I don't know why I hate microsoft ...but then who doesn't ? Something about microsoft make you squirm with disgust. I may be writing this using a Winxp but it has to do with lack of options and not by preference !
And when Microsoft announced it bid for yahoo for $41.6 billion I started looking for alternatives, I guess the biggest loss would have been using Yahoo mail which is by far the best webmail, well it seems I can continue using Yahoo mail for a little bit longer.
But 41.6 B was a mediocre evaluation of yahoo when you consider Microsoft evaluated Facebook at 15 B to have bought 1.6% at 240 Million, yahoo is still most visited online property, yet this bid was prompted most likely to face off against Google which posing a bigger irritation to Microsoft that to yahoo !
Then this begs the question does microsoft needs yahoo more that yahoo needs Microsoft ? What do you think !

Yahoo beats Google in search result referral
According to Compete Yahoo performs better in referral than any other major search engine. According to their data, upto 75% of the search query resulted in a referral or a click. On the other hand searches on Google resulted in a click about 65% of the time and on MSN/Live 59% of the time.
But statistics tell you only half of the story as argued by Matt Cutts that many times you don't need to click to get the result for example typing Cricket gives you the cricket score on the top.
Quality of the search result is as subjective as the person or the number of search engines, and you are better off using all of them !

Yahoo-China sued for sharing of information policy
A human rights group from US is suing Yahoo alleged unethical compliance with chinese authorities by divulging user details. Chinese version of Yahoo is being accused of complying to any lengths with Chinese authorities and compromising with its ethics just to gain shares of the Chinese market and it is investing heavily in local companies.
This comes after several incidents in which yahoo user details were disclosed by the company including the case of a journalist who was jailed for 10 years after yahoo complied with authorities disclosing mail details which helped in tracing him.
This is not the first time in china where Companies crawled when they were asked bend major IT firms have received condemnation from US congress for complying with Chinese authority in censoring the internet in China.

Any Suggestions ?
"I will have what google is having" - Yahoo!
Google Suggest created waves in the blogosphere when it offered Suggestions to the keyword typed and making AJAX, JSON really cool in the process, but seems suggest is stuck in labs now, could be because the almost sacred approach to the google homepage !
Yahoo has pulled a fast one and started offering Suggestion in their homepage and not on their search page.
Use of AJAX is gonna revolutionize the website process info and make a much better experience.
