Animated Favicon With Scrolling Text for your website or Blog
You might have seen these animated Website Icons or Favicon and If you thought it takes a whole fleet of web designers to create this.
Guess what it may be simpler than you thought.
All you need is an animated gif with height and width 16x16 px. You can create one for free at http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/ including scrolling text effect.
Once you have the animated Gif just include the below code to the head of your blog or Website.
<link rel="icon" href="http://somesite.com/animated_favicon.gif" type="image/gif" >
If you want to add a static favicon apart from the animated just add this code to the head
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://somesite.com/favicon.ico" >
Replace the href value with your gif location.
Check out the Demo
Unfortunately the animated icon works only in firefox and Netscape while other browsers such as Opera displays just the static icon which IE only display when added to the favorites
